The Department of Education in Peru has set an ambitious goal of raising English standards of all school leavers. To help them to achieve this, ELC provides teachers to work in Government high performance schools to co-teach, take speaking and listening classes and activities and develop course materials.

The program
The Peruvian government has established a nationwide program designed to improve levels of English for students in government schools. This program recruits foreign teachers to work in high performance schools across Peru to improve the student’s English communication skills .
Teachers will have a 1-week orientation in Lima and then have continued welfare and academic support during the program. It is suitable for teachers with some previous experience wishing to make a valuable contribution to their students and the Peruvian local community. This is also a unique opportunity to have an amazing cultural immersion experience

Responsibilities
- Teaching up to 25 hours face to face per week
- Non-teaching tasks of up to 15 hours per week (marking, reports, materials development etc.).
Requirements
- Degree (any subject)
- TESOL or TEFL qualification (min. 120 hours)
- 2 years’ teaching experience preferred. This could be mainstream high school teaching experience or TESOL.
- Age 21-55
- Clean police record
- Sense of adventure
